  • Simon Fay guitars.

I am delighted that two guitars from Simon Fay are underway. Those that know his work will know why.
The first will be in Engelmann and the incredible black and white ebony. Some may remember that I had two incredible guitar from Mike Baranik in the incredible wood.
The second is in Adirondack and Cuban Mahogany.
  • Northfield F2S black top.

Northfield has gained a fantastic reputation over the last few years. This is a beauty with a fantastic black top finish.

The amazing AIRLOOM case is included, this would normally add £250.

With an Adirondack (red) spruce top and gorgeous flamed maple back and sides it sounds as good as it looks. It has the beautiful rich and deep tones you would want from an oval hole mandolin and great clarity and definition (thanks in part to the Adirondack top) so you have a very full tone and great note separation making it fantastic for most styles of playing, folk, classical and old time (it even has a decent chop for the bluegrassers). One of the very best oval holed mandolins I have heard and played. It plays very easily and has plenty of volume, responding extremely well to a light touch or a heavier pick.

  • Northfield F5S.

Northfield's F5S has been getting a fantastic reception stateside and with very good reason.

The amazing AIRLOOM case is included, this would normally add £250.

They are bluegrass monsters with a strong and powerful chop and much, much more, strong well defined bass notes, rich and complex mids and clear trebles. The balance and projection is remarkable as is the depth of tone. Great for the aforementioned bluegrass and almost any other style.

  • Grit Laskin's new book.

I finally received mine after it took two months to come to the UK and be returned to Canada by the Post Office.
What an incredible book and tribute to Grit's genius.
I was also delighted to see a couple of TAMCO guitars.
The next TAMCO Laskin is underway with a bluegrass theme. I will post sketches soon.
