  • McElroy Generation 2.1 Standard: Adirondack/Madagascan rosewood cutaway 2015 USED.

Made in 2015 this beauty is in as new condition.
Adirondack and mad rose is a great combination giving a very full and warm tone with endless headroom as you would expect. It has remarkable richness across all tonal ranges with excellent balance and projection. The bass notes are rich and well defined, the mids very complex and full of character, the trebles are full and bright and clear. All in all a wonderful guitar for everything from hard strumming to a gentle fingerstyle, its response is very even and balanced.
  • Weber Yellowstone A5: A style, f hole, honey/tortoise.

A beautiful Yellowstone A5 in the honey and tortoise finish. It features an Adirondack/red spruce top, gorgeous flamed maple back and sides, tone bar bracing, ebony radiussed fretboard and bound top, back, fretboard and headstock. It has a one and one eighth nut width, dual action adjustable truss rod and gloss finish.

This is a remarkable Bluegrass mandolin (if the Bluegrass police don't catch you without the scroll...) with a loud and clear chop and fantastic projection but also great for any other style of playing with warmth and depth and great response from a gentler touch.

  • Mowry A5 USED.

I am very reluctantly selling my Mowry (house repairs needed). It was made for me by Andrew in 2010. I designed all the inlays and I am going to miss it greatly but needs must. I have looked after it so its in excellent condition. It would cost around £5800 to order one like this now.

Andrew scores in all three areas, design, faultless workmanship and sound. It is in spruce and maple and has a one and one eights nut width, 22 frets and a James tailpiece, ebony fretboard and bridge and Elite tuners with black buttons. It sounds incredible with great balance, projection and volume. It achieves that combination of richness and clarity that only the best do, responding well to the heavy bluegrass chop or the gentle lyrical approach.

  • Weber Gallatin F5: F style, f hole, faded leather.

I first played a Gallatin in the States in the mid nineteen nineties and remember it still. This is an example of where every cent has gone into the sound. With no bindings, faded leather finish and satin varnish it looks great.

With a solid hand carved spruce top, solid hand carved maple back and sides, solid cast tailpiece and Brekke bridge it's the least expensive US of A hand-made F5 around. The basic spec of course does not affect the sound, this is a bluegrass cannon, bark and bite a plenty, volume to challenge those b*njos but with enough complexity to make a great all-rounder. With custom hardshell case.

  • Northfield F5S.

Northfield's F5S has been getting a fantastic reception stateside and with very good reason.

They are bluegrass monsters with a strong and powerful chop and much, much more, strong well defined bass notes, rich and complex mids and clear trebles. The balance and projection is remarkable as is the depth of tone. Great for the aforementioned bluegrass and almost any other style.
