  • Martin 5-18 ‘Marty Robbins’ #9 2009.

My second Martin 5-18, it really is remarkable how much sound comes from these little beauties, tuned standard or as a Terz (a minor third up).

  • Old Wave Octave mandolin.

An amazing octave from Bill, Colorado Engelmann spruce and curly sugar maple with Adirondack bracing, Ziricote headstock veneer, 21.5" scale, ebony tailpiece and fretboard with 16" radius. I have only ever owned two octave mandolins personally, both made by Mr. Bussmann. I would be very happy to add this to my collection but have run out of hands and space... To use one of my favourite clichés again it sounds as good as it looks. Well defined bass (not a common feature on octave mandolins) with depth and resonance, warm and complex mids with clear and strong trebles... fantastic.

  • Michael Lewis Ritz.

An oval hole mandolin with power and pop! It has the bass and resonance of a good oval mandolin with added definition and projection.

Featuring 13 7/8” scale, 1 3/16 nut width, Englemann spruce top, Walnut back and sides, graphite epoxy composite truss rod, Gotoh gold plate tuners with ivoroid buttons, ivory pattern bindings. It is finished with McFadden lacquer, with a French polished neck, ebony bridge and saddle, Bill James Lewis style Deco tailpiece and comes in a Concorde climate control case.

  • USED McKnight Mini Mac Engelmann/Cocobolo.

It sounds tremendous, a big and warm sound but with great articulation and the clarity and definition of cocobolo. It responds to a nail-less finger as easily as a heavy pick. A fantastic fingerstyle guitar but capable of much more.

  • Gustav Fredell XS 2013.

Sadly Gustav is no longer with us. This incredible guitar is a testament to his skills, it is a rare opportunity to get one of these amazing guitars.

It has very strong and well defined bass. I have compared it to many OM sized guitars and it stands its ground easily. Gustav's aim was to get the sound of a bigger guitar from a baby and he has achieved that. It has warmth, projection and definition up there with the very best, the playability is excellent and it is very responsive.

  • Weber Yellowstone F5.

Bluegrass heaven!!! Bruce's Yellowstone in Adirondack/red spruce and beautiful flamed maple with tone bar bracing. It's got bark and chop, it's a hoss, b*njos beware. Weber tone bar braced F5's are very highly regarded in the US of A by the bluegrass folk, this one is a very fine example. As well as the superlatives already deployed it has plenty of volume a powerful mid range and good sustain giving versatility for those playing a variety of styles. It comes with Weber's superb hardshell case.
