Guitar Page Header~I first came across David's guitars in several of the US of A's more exclusive guitar outlets. The tone of a rosewood OM I played in Mando Bros has stuck with me ever since. David uses the dreaded CNC to do all the boring and tedious parts that gain nothing from being done by hand. This allows him and his assistant to do the important bits by hand, selecting the finest woods, graduating tops and tap tuning to adjust bracing individually for each guitar, necks are all hand fitted. Using the machinery to do the tedious work allows him to build these very fine guitars at unbelievable prices. (The struggling Canadian Dollar also helps with this, David is in Vancouver). David Webber Jumbo spruce/mahogany~This is a beautiful adaption to the standard Jumbo (or small Jumbo with a sixteen inch lower bout) in solid spruce and mahogany with rosewood bindings. David uses an OM style upper bout with a tight waist and a three and a half (at the heel) to four inch body depth. All the delivery expected of a Jumbo but without needing gorilla arms the get round it. The mahogany back and sides give it the power associated with Jumbo guitars - deep bass and rich sustain - with strong and vibrant mids, but with clear, well defined trebles and great balance and projection. David Webber Roundbody spruce/rosewood~David's Roundbody is an exceptionally verstile guitar, influenced by the classical hourglass boby shape it is ideal for alternative tunings. In spruce and rosewood with rosewood bindings and a fifteen and half inch lower bout it responds well to fingerstyle and chord playing. Based on the O or concert model from the turn of the century (not the most recent one!) with a 24.9" scale and a 12 fret neck join putting the bridge in the middle of the lower bout, it has surprising volume and that charactersitic sweet luscious tone typical of the twelve fret guitar. I has remarkable clarity and balance with sweet, rich bass, resonant, warm mids and clear trebles.
