  • Brentrup A4 Model 20 Adirondack/Red spruce/sugar maple USED.

Originally sold by me and showing some of Hans' typical crazed varnish (maybe the thin varnish is why they sound so good?).

Since Han's sadly had to stop making mandolins due poor health this is a rare opportunity to get a Brentrup mandolin at a great price.

Mandolins don't come much classier than this. All Hans'  mandolins have immaculate and very stylish finishing. The std models have tortoise bindings on a dark sunburst, nothing flash here just simple beautiful lines complimented with a James tailpiece and a sculpted rosewood pickguard. Hans chose sugar maple to compliment the red spruce/Adirondack top to achieve an incredible balance between cut and pop and depth and resonance of tone. Basses are strong, the mid range is  rich and complex and the trebles are clear and bright, this is a fantastically versatile mandolin by one of today's great mandolin builders.

  • Pava A5 Player sunburst gloss.

Pava's mandolins sell as quickly as I can get them and there is a very good reason, they are incredible, immaculate fit and finish, the best tonewoods available and fantastic tone.

This absolutely gorgeous Player A5 has great volume with an immense chop and great depth and warmth. It plays beautifully and responds equally well to the gentlest touch or going for it with a heavy pick. Pick your style from bluegrass to classical, this is a mandolin for everyone.

  • Weber Bitterroot A5: A style, f hole.

Beautiful A5 Bitterroot with flame maple back and sides, spruce top, radiussed ebony fretboard and Brekke bridge, tone bar braced, 1 1/8" nut width,  cast Weber stainless steel tailpiece, nickel Grover tuners, dual action adjustable truss rod and custom hard case. The Bitterroot is our best selling F5 and this gem sounds just as good for quite a lot less, lacking what the Americans call a thousand dollar strap hanger but nothing else, it has huge volume and clarity making it a bluegrass monster, but with depth and subtlety too for other styles, a great sounding and looking mandolin at a great price.

  • Simon Fay guitars.

I am delighted that two guitars from Simon Fay are underway. Those that know his work will know why.
The first will be in Engelmann and the incredible black and white ebony. Some may remember that I had two incredible guitar from Mike Baranik in the incredible wood.
The second is in Adirondack and Cuban Mahogany.
  • Northfield F5S.

Northfield's F5S has been getting a fantastic reception stateside and with very good reason.

The amazing AIRLOOM case is included, this would normally add £250.

They are bluegrass monsters with a strong and powerful chop and much, much more, strong well defined bass notes, rich and complex mids and clear trebles. The balance and projection is remarkable as is the depth of tone. Great for the aforementioned bluegrass and almost any other style.

  • Grit Laskin's new book.

I finally received mine after it took two months to come to the UK and be returned to Canada by the Post Office.
What an incredible book and tribute to Grit's genius.
I was also delighted to see a couple of TAMCO guitars.
The next TAMCO Laskin is underway with a bluegrass theme. I will post sketches soon.
