  • The amazing value Weber Gallatin A4 in natural finish is back in stock. This one has some stunning maple on the back and sides.

  • This OO-12 cutaway from John Slobod aka Circa guitars is a month away.

  • Another superlative mandolin from Rolfe Gerhardt aka Phoenix mandolins. His instruments are always very light and responsive, you can feel them resonating as you get them out of the case!

This beauty has a very full tone with fantastic volume and complexity. It has plenty of oomph for the bluegrass players with a deep and full, loud chop and responds excellently to the heaviest pick or the lightest touch. It barks or sings sweetly, doing whatever you ask of it. A very versatile and wonderful mandolin.

  • Fantastic 'Classic OM' from Lynn Dudenbostel. This is a rare bird indeed.

It comes complete with a letter from Lynn dated April 14 2009 explaining his goal of producing a modern Martin 14 fret OM, see photo.

It is an excellent condition and sounds awesome! It very light and extremity responsive, with unbelievable definition and projection, rich and full bases, complex mids and clear/well defined trebles. Sound clip to come soon.

  • My latest mandolin newsletter is out.

  • My first build from Tom Rein is under way. This will be his R1 model in flamed mahogany and Lutz spruce. Thirteen frets to the body, adjustable action and a French polished top.

  • The latest news from Sharleen Simmons.

"I am just writing with a quick update. Neck construction is underway and the beautiful mahogany neck has been cut out and had two carbon fiber rods installed for reinforcement, as well as a dual action titanium truss rod. The headstock has been shaped and bevelled, and the ebony headplate features my standard "Simmons" logo, with a rear headplate featuring a beautiful piece of African Blackwood to compliment the back and sides. I hope to get some carving done next week!"
