Monthly Archives: August 2012

  • I'm now on twitter. I don't have a clue how to use it or what its for but I'll have a go... Follow me @TAMCO_UK but don't follow too close I'm a bit paranoid, footsteps behind me won't go down well..!

  • Its a great time to check out TAMCO for used mandolins. With the arrival of a Capek Professional my used wall is full.

  • Its buses time again.. I haven't a Rigel in in years and then two arrive in a week. This R100 has the classic Rigel sound in bucket loads.

  • Just arrived from 1950 a Gibson F12.. and its in better shape than some of us 50s veterans.

  • My first from the incredible Michael Bashkin. Its everything I had hoped for and more. The looks speak for themselves, the sound speaks of heavenly bodies!

Its is fantastically full and lush sounding with unbelievable separation and clarity at the same time. Only the very best luthiers can pull this off.

  • Used Taylor 410 just in... at £845! If it floats your boat grab it now...

  • Dola heaven and another honey and tortoise beauty. This mandola growls and groans along with the best of the subterranean mandolas. I have never understood how a good mandola can sound like this, giving the impression of an instrument much

deeper than it actually is. Fantastic for melody, rhythm and adding a new voice to the mix, solo or in a group.

Its in the beautiful honey and tortoise finish with a hand graduated and tuned solid spruce top, flamed maple back and sides, ebony veneered tapered A headstock, tortoiseshell/ivoroid bound with black/ivoroid side accent lines, MOP "The Weber" Script and MOP white and gold flower pot inlay, tortoise bound soundhole, tortoise bound ebony radiussed fingerboard with a 17 inch scale and a 1 1/4 inch nut width, MOP buds fret markers, dual action/adjustable bridge, tortoise bound body with black/ivoroid side accent lines, cast Weber nickel tailpiece, nickel Grover tuners, traditional Brekke bridge and deluxe hardshell case.

  • A beautiful Weber F4 Yellowstone in may favourite finish, honey and tortoise has just arrived. Its a real beauty and sounds great.

Many oval hole mandolins (particularly flat - tops) lack definition and clarity and have hard wishy-washy bass, this beauty has fantastic balance with sweet and well defined bass notes, complex and warm mids and wonderful clear and characterful trebles.

  • Even more amazing.. the Kronbauer MJ is £1595, not £1895 as previously announced.
