Gibson 1924 A2Z snakehead£5,895.00In stockFinance available (UK residents only) from £169.89 per month with 10% depositThe holy grail of the snakehead holy grails let me explain. The Gibson snakehead mandolin, spottable by the distinctive headstock shape and produced during the time that Lloyd Loar was at Gibson is widely considered to be the pinnacle of Gibson's oval hole mandolins. The A2Z is regarded as the best sounding and is the most sought after of the snakeheads.
The reason for this is that you get the benefits of the depth and resonance and warmth of an oval hole mandolin but with amazing projection and clarity, the best of both worlds. The is a very fine example of the holy grail.
Adjustable truss-rod, adjustable bridge, natural top finish, really nice clean solid overall excellent condition, original but for expertly done new frets, original hard case.

This beauty is one of the best snakes I've heard, as loud as an F5 and with the oval hole sound but pumped up with fantastic clarity and separation. The A2Z snakehead is widely regarded as best of the snakeheads for tone but the A4 snakehead has all the pop of an A2Z but with more depth and resonance.
Weber Custom Elite F5 USEDOut of stockThis is the third Weber Elite I’ve had in. They are built completely by Bruce himself in Montana. This beauty was built for Weber’s ace finish man Brett Byers in 2012.
Engelmann Spruce top, spectacularly flamed maple back and sides, abbreviated fingerboard extension, tortoise/white/black body, fretboard and headstock binding, bound F holes, gold hardware, custom MoP fretboard inlay, abalone headstock inlay and custom Ameritage case.
It is one of the most amazing looking and sounding mandolins I've ever seen or heard. Hand rubbed true spirit varnish custom finish by Brett Byers himself. The Elite series has been lauded by people with many decades in the mandolin world more than myself as the equal of any contemporary mandolins made by the so called big five (Gilchrist, Nugget, Monteleone, Dudenbostel and Heiden). It resonates as you handle it without playing a note, always a good sign. It responds equally well to the lightest touch or the thickest pick of the loudest player, it chops and barks and sings sweetly when asked. It has incredible power with remarkable depth and a very rich tone. It has that low end 'woof' of the very best f hole mandolins. Playability and response are amazing, it's as loud as any mandolin I've ever heard but often this is at the expense of subtlety and richness of tone, this is one of those rare mandolins that has it all!
Gilchrist F4 1979Out of stockFantastic 1979 Gilchrist F4 in excellent condition. Steve is famous for his amazing tone and this beauty is no exception. It has a huge sound with strong and well defined bass notes, complex and rich mids and clear and full trebles.

Great for playing anything on, I wish I could keep it.
Dudenbostel F5 #3 SOLD
Only two numbers from 'Dude #5' made famous by Chris Thile. People often ask me how they can sound like Chris, this beauty would help plus a few thousand hours of practice!
It sounds like heaven in the mandolin world with amazing depth of tone with huge warm and well defined bass notes, full and complex mids and fat, clear and full trebles.. bliss.
The playability is wonderful with sweet tones from the lightest touch and great bark and chop from a more robust approach.
With Waverly tunes and a Pegasus case.
