The Rigel Custom Comet is here!!! Take a look at that outrageous design, read the instrument description for the story. When my holidays are over (back 16th August) and things have picked up a bit after the summer lull I will post in on the various mandolin web message boards. Talking of Rigel, largish price increases are in the offing, from £200 to £500 (£500 on the CT110 and G95). All current stock will be staying at marked prices but new stock will be at the higher prices so if you've been thinking about a Rigel don't hang around.

Rosta Capek's f4 mandola is back in stock, I could have sold that last one twice two days after it came in so this might be gone by the time this is live..

Five Webers have arrived. An Alder mandola for lovers of that earthy 'dola tone, a Gallatin, the bestist value made in the USA F5 around. A custom Bitteroot, our first cedar topped Weber, I'm impressed, come and give it a try. Our first Beartooth from Bruce, A4s don't come much better than this. And the super yummy Fern, the second one we've had and an F5 to please lovers of the oval hole (me) as well as the purist bluegrasser.

We've got two used Fylde Touchstones in, one with an active headway pickup, talking of pickups I am told by folk who know a lot more about these things than I do that the Ovation is excellent plugged in, the acoustic sound certainly isn't my cup of tea though it might suit some, but wonderful things can be achieved if you know what to do that that EQ.

Also an unusual thing, a used Eastman, I think the first we've had, sprising considering how many we sell, grab it quick. Its been getting hard to find old Gibson A models recently but the '21 A sounds great and is a great player and still under a grand, I am expecting future teens and early 20s As to be in the £1200 to £1400 range, if I can get any. The snakehead from the last download has gone but my favourite, the whiteface is still here. at the time of writing..

Guitar News.

G Eastman AR 805 Guitar £995
GV Taylor 314ce Guitar Vintage £995
GV Martin OM42 Guitar Vintage £2295

We've finally got our first Eastman jazzer in and its as impressive as expected. We gave up selling jazz guitars a few years ago because we were holding a lot of expensive stock and making very few sales. I know that's what we do anyway but this was an extreme case. If we can get them, proving difficult at the moment, we will be getting more in.

Two great value used guitars from Taylor and Martin, both in as new condition and £hundreds lower than new prices. Due endish of August AAAA Koa grand concert (OM) from Goodall (can't wait to see the figure on this one and hear that special Koa tone) and two new ones from Dana Bourgeois. The Celtic JOM, I've ordered this one without those very beautiful inlays to keep the price down but Dana's JOM is my fave body shape and walnut my fave wood so I have great expectations of this one. Also a sunburst adi/mahogany slope D, our best selling body shape from Dana, was my fave shape 'till I got into the JOM but I am mandolinist (of sorts) so what do I know??

Happy pickin'
