Mandolin News - What’s New(s)? 28/03/08

Mandolin News.
No new mandolins in this time, I will try to do better next time. That shouldn’t be too difficult as the Heidens are now imminent and there’s a Phoenix Bluegrass on the way. There’s quite a few folks waiting to see and hear the Heidens so if you want a chance to try them all before one sells let me know and I will phone or email you as soon as they arrive.

Regular readers will know that I get excited about the arrival of a Givens. I am excited…

Three arrivals in the teens Gibson department. The A4 has always been a fave of mine and this is a great example. We now have four pumpkin top As in stock so a good time to visit if you’ve been looking for one. Prices are rising a bit so its now not possible to keep the best examples under a grand but £1095 in my view is still a good price for a great sounding piece of history.

We also have one of the best sounding octave mandolins I‘ve heard from Chris Eccleshall. New stock on its way from J Bovier, Flinthills and Ratliff.

Eccleshall Octave mandolin Vintage Mandolin £550
Gibson A 1914 Vintage Mandolin £995
Gibson A 1916   Vintage Mandolin £1095
Gibson A4 1915 Vintage Mandolin £1995
Givens A3 1987 Vintage Mandolin £2995

Guitar News.
Our guitar wizard John Pickard left at the end of march. He will be sorely missed. Tamco wouldn’t be where it is today without John’s hard work and expertise. We are talking to a couple of potential replacements but as of writing the position is still vacant. Get in touch very soon if you are interested.

We now have four of the amazing Eastman Jazz guitars in stock and a couple more on order. That’s the only new guitar this time but our stock of amazingly wonderful used guitars continues to rise. New arrivals from Bourgeois, Lakewood, Guild and Epiphone add to our stock of about thirty new and used guitars.

Due to arrive in the coming weeks are Dana Bourgeois’ incredible signature dreadnought in Madagascar rosewood (thought by many to be the equal of Brazilian) and a Jumbo cutaway in rosewood and redwood. We’ve already got twelve new and three used Bourgeois in, probably the biggest stock in the world.

Brooks are arriving at a steady pace so we still have eleven in stock. We are up to six of the wonderful K. Yairi guitars and seven from Vancouver’s David Weber.

Eastman AR 905-CE-LN Uptown Luxury Blonde Guitar £1799
Lakewood M1 Vintage Guitar £550
Guild JF 30 12 Vintage Guitar £1495
Epiphone Texan  1967 Vintage Guitar £1595
Bourgeois OMC custom Vintage Guitar £2250

Happy pickin’
Trevor
