Mandolin News.
Our first octave mandolin from Rosta Capek has arrived and it’s amazing, I now know why Ricky Skaggs has one. Many octaves I have played are a bit jangly with very little definition. This stunner has incredible balance and projection. We’ve had an A4 basic from Rosta that has some dark grain on the top, below the soundhole. Rosta said it only appeared towards the end (this happens with carved tops sometimes) so its £100 less than normal (at £1195). Same amazing sound….
We’ve had five used mandos in in the last few weeks, hence the quick update. Another Buchanan for the folkies, a gorgeous Bridger from the fine folks at Weber (our first used Weber!) an Ae from Jimmy Moon that sounds like a carved top at an amazing price, and two F4 from Jiri Lebeda. We’ve now got six used Lebeda’s in so give me a call for a bit of a deal…
In the next week or two I am expecting two mandolins from Mark Franz at Flinthills mandolins. I’ve seen the pictures so I know they look great, I’ve heard great things about how they sound but won’t know for sure until I get them. Watch this space…

Just a couple of used ‘uns this time, a very well travelled Martin D28 and a great condition Taylor &14ce. We are still getting a few used guitars that sell before I can get them on the website so phone if you think we might have what you are looking for.
Lots of goodies coming soon. From Dana Bourgeois a short scaled slope D and a 12 fret Dreadnought the D-260 due in the next month or so. Also around a month roundbody, jumbo and parlour from Vancouver’s David Webber.
We are also working with a couple of new makers, I hope to have definite news in time for the next download.
