Mandolin News.
No new mandolins this time aww… sorry will try to do better.. BUT I’ve made amends by getting another Givens F5, this is a real beauty, I won’t bore folk by raving about Givens again, do your self a favour, catch that plane, train or automobile and come and hear it..
We’ve got another used maple Buchanan in and an old favourite back, a Flatiron pancake. Coming in the not to distant future another American sole luthier’s bluegrass mandolins, I am very excited about this, his work is immaculate, I know that but I have only heard what others think of the tone…. I am also working with Jeff Cowherd in the US of A on a new folk family range, mandolin, mandola, octave, bouzouki, 10/string mandola/mandolin, 10 string octave and 10 string/cello bouzouki. I am not sure how long this is going to take, I hope the first four will be here within a couple of months.

Just four guitars on this download, but its quite a bunch. Dana Bourgeois’ D150 in Madagascar rosewood is a monarch among dreadnoughts, Bryan Sutton plays something similar, Dana has quite a reputation, this is among his best. We’ve got two from David Weber, both OMs, in mahogany and rosewood, both remarkable value and tone, you can’t get any better in the tone per buck stakes. We have three more, roundbody, jumbo and parlour, due in 6 – 8 weeks.
We have only our second Ralph Bown, the last one sold within a few days of going on the website, don’t hang around if you are interested. This is an ’89 OM in spruce and spectacular ziricote. If you’ve heard of Ralph’s reputation I can’t add much, if you haven’t get here quick and cock an ear..
We have two Martins, a Taylor and a Goodall to add the ever growing used heard and another Taylor on its way.
Happy pickin’
Trevor
