Weber
Hand made mandolins from £300 Weber mandolins have a pedigree unrivalled in mandolin making. Bruce Weber and his fellow luthiers worked at the Flatiron factory in Montana, which had been bought out by Gibson. Bruce was in charge of production making Flatiron and Gibson mandolins. When Gibson moved mandolin production to Nashville they decided to stay in Montana and set up Weber mandolins. From faithful reproductions of classic instruments to new ideas, from travel mandolin to mandocello the range is unrivalled. Customer service is legendary as is the finish and tone of their instruments. Each mandolin spends 8 to 12 hours being hand finished after being hand built, the only machinery here is doing the jobs that machines do best, removing excess wood, cutting fretboards and the like. I've never met such a nice and dedicated bunch of folk, watching them work is inspiring. I promise you that they are all as dedicated to fine mandolins as you and me. With Bruce Weber and Verne Brekke (designer of the revolutionary Brekke bridge) at the helm the best of tradition and new ideas combines to produce outstanding instruments. I am delighted to be the only UK dealer for these fine mandolins. |

Weber Sweat Pea travel mandolin
Some would think that a mandolin is small enough already to travel with but this little beauty in its gigbag is almost pocket sized, it would easily fit in an overnight bag and go overhead on a flight. Why be without a mandolin? The tone is pretty good for such a small soundbox, in fact as good as some full size mandolins on the market at this price!£ 319.00
-

Twenty three and a half inch scale octave mandolin with one and three eights inch nut width in solid spruce and solid maple with ebony fretboard and compensated bridge, solid cast tailpiece and custom hard case. This is a fantastic sounding octave mandolin, non of that wishy/washy break up when played hard, unlike many an octave. The bass is strong and well defined, mids warm and rich, trebles clear, if only all octave mandolins sounded this good...

Weber Gallatin A oval hole
With no bindings and a faded leather satin finish this Gallatin A looks great. It is an example of a mandolin where every penny has gone into the sound. With a solid hand carved spruce top, solid hand carved maple back and sides, solid cast tailpiece and Brekke bridge it's the least expensive US of A made A style mandolin around. The basic spec of course does not affect the sound, it has a classic A4 sound, solid, well defined bass with warm and rich mids and crisp ringing trebles. With hard case.£ 1,350.00

Weber Gallatin F5 spruce/maple
I first played a Gallatin in the States in the mid nineteen nineties and remember it still. This is an example of where every cent has gone into the sound. With no bindings, faded leather finish and satin varnish it looks great. With a solid hand carved spruce top, solid hand carved maple back and sides, solid cast tailpiece and Brekke bridge it's the least expensive US of A made F5 around. The basic spec of course does not affect the sound, this is a bluegrass cannon, bark and bite a plenty, volume to challenge those b*njos but with enough complexity to make a great all-rounder. With custom hardshell case.£ 1,650.00

Weber Yellowstone A5 trad sunburst
A beautiful Yellowstone A5 in the traditional dark red sunburst finish. It features a solid spruce top, gorgeous flamed maple back and sides, tone bar bracing, ebony radiussed fretboard and the amazing ebony Brekke bridge (height adjustable while under tension), bound top, back, fretboard and headstock. It has a one and one eighth nut width, dual action adjustable truss rod and gloss finish. Some f hole mandolins have a rich and resonant mid range without losing cut and projection (some put it down to the tone bar bracing but I've heard plenty of tone bar braced mandolins without it), this is such a beast. This is a fantastic Bluegrass mandolin (if the Bluegrass police don't catch you without the scroll...) but also great for any other style of playing. With hardshell case.£ 1,995.00
-
Weber Bitterroot F5

Weber Bitterroot F5 Custom
Lots of upgrades on this stunning Bitterroot F5, back binding, gloss finish and Bret's amazing Bengal tiger colouring, WOW! This is a really punchy bluegrass monster, chop chords rattle the windows (as they've knocked down those frying pan players on the way). On top o' the chop it has a deep, woody bass and sweet, rich mids, great for 'grassers and the versatility for many other styles too. With hardshell case.£ 2,550.00

Weber Yellowstone F5 honey/tortoise
Bluegrass heaven!!! Bruce's Yellowstone in spruce and beautiful flamed maple with tone bar bracing. It's got bark and chop, it's a hoss, b*njos beware. Weber tone bar braced F5's are very highly regarded in the US of A by the bluegrass folk, this one is a very fine example. As well as the superlatives already deployed it has plenty of volume a powerful mid range and good sustain giving versatility for those playing a variety of styles. It comes with Weber's superb hardshell case.£ 3,095.00

Weber Custom Vintage F
The Weber Custom Vintage series have been creating quite a stir, made with the recently acquired stock of 50 - 100 year old woods, this F4 harks back to the famous F4s of the nineteen-ninteens. I upgraded to extra flamed maple to add to Bruce's usual incredible fit and finish on this beauty. It has the characteristic deep growl of a teens F4 but with more volume, projection and definition than most. The basses are dark and woody, mids are vibrant and full and the trebles have sweetness and clarity. With hardshell case.£ 3,795.00

Weber Custom Elite F5
This is our second Weber Elite, it is just as amazing as the first. Engelmann Spruce top, one piece spectacularly flamed maple back and sides, abbreviated fingerboard extension, tortoise/white/black body, fretboard and headstock binding, bound F holes, gold hardware. It is one of the most amazing looking and sounding mandolins I've ever seen or heard. Hand rubbed true spirit varnish with custom faded tobacco sunburst finish by Brett Byers. The Elite series has been lauded by people with many decades in the mandolin world more than myself as the equal of any contemporary mandolin made by the so called big five (Gilchrist, Nugget, Monteleone, Dudenbostel and Heiden). It resonates as you handle it without playing a note, always a good sign. It responds equally well to the lightest touch or the thickest pick of the loudest player, it chops and barks and sings sweetly when asked. It has incredible power with a remarkable depth and a very rich tone. It has that low end 'woof' of the very best f hole mandolins. Playability and response are amazing, it's as loud as any mandolin I've ever heard but often this is at the expense of subtlety and richness of tone, this is one of those very rare mandolins that has it all! With custom rectangular case.

Weber Fern
A superlative F5 in sound and looks from Bruce Weber. I described the Summit F200S as 'having it all' as a bluegrass mandolin so how do they compare? I'd say that if you were going for out and out b*njo killing and playing fast and hard most of the time the Summit has it, this Weber has more in the way of rich tone and subtlety. Lovely dark bass and warm middles with clear trebles but still plenty of cut. But then again different people hear it differently, come and have a listen for yourself.£ 4,650.00
