Summit mandolins are made just a hop and a skip (to the sound of bluegrass) from Nashville by master luthier Paul Schneider (Lebanon TN of the song by Ron Sexsmith is the nearest town). Paul has been building superlative bluegrass mandolins for over twenty years, he is one of the best known and most respected makers in the USA, and one of the nicest guys you could hope to meet.

He started with OME and later worked with Flatiron and was a consultant to Gibson. Completely hand made from all solid woods, all of Paul's mandolins carry a lifetime guarantee to the original owner, come with a hardshell case and the classic bluegrass, sound.

We reluctantly stopped stocking Paul's amazing mandolins a few years ago when we had far too much stock (we still do but not quite as badly as then). We are delighted to have them back.

Summit A100 in spruce and flamed maple from rural Tennessee, single bound top and back, ebony fretboard and bridge and abalone Summit mountain and moon logo. Pure bluegrass without a scroll (watch out for the bluegrass police). But if you can live without the strap hanger Paul's A100 has plenty of chop and cut for slaying ban*os with amazing projection and clarity it is great for fast runs and percussive style accompaniment and it has some depth and resonance for other styles too.

No problems with the bluegrass police with this classic F5. Born and bred in bluegrass country Paul has been making bluegrass mandolins since the big Mon was wowing the world. In spruce and flamed maple with a single bound top, ebony fretboard and bridge and the stunning mountain and moon abalone headstock inlay this is a true classic bluegrass cannon. A bit deeper and more resonant than the A5 it barks and bites to be heard over other lesser members of the bluegrass family (yes I'm ducking under the flack). With incredible clarity, projection and single note definition this is a very fine bluegrass hoss.
