Bill Tippin Acoustic Guitars

Bill Tippin began building acoustic guitars in 1978. With a background in furniture making and boat building he made his first acoustic guitar for himself from a kit. When friends started asking for acoustic guitars one thing led to another, within 5 years he was working full time as a luthier and Tippin Guitars began building a reputation as one of the very best of the new golden age acoustic guitar luthiers.

Renowned for his attention to immaculate detailing, Bill says "The learning process never ends; I will continue to learn from each acoustic guitar and strive to make each acoustic guitar the best it can be." At TAMCO we had a used Tippin in a while back and I have never forgotten how it sounded or looked. We are delighted to be Bill's only European dealer.

Bill has created three of his own models; the small bodied Staccato, the 'flagship model' Crescendo, an OOO/OM hybrid and the Bravado, a sixteen inch small jumbo with a shallow-ish four and a half inch body depth along with a more traditional OM with his own specifications.
Al Petteway says; "There are only a few acoustic guitars that I have really wanted to buy, this is one of them. It's elegant and has some beautiful and unique design elements, but the sound is the thing. It is responsive and balanced and sounds perfect all the way up the neck. The beveled cutaway makes it feel totally comfortable playing up past the body and the armrest bevel makes it a joy to hold for long periods.

I've already spent more time with this acoustic guitar than I did with any of the other guitars that have come through . Bill Tippin has really nailed it with this one. It's mine now and I plan to keep this one as long as I'm around. This new design is a winner and Bill assures me that he can make another one just as good or better than this one! "
