Brock Guitars

Brock Guitars

Brock Johnston began building guitars in the early eighties under the tutelage of renowned Luthier Bozo Podunavac. Brock's goal was to produce a guitar that could be heard above the other instruments in acoustic music groups. After hearing the incredible sound of the guitars Leo Kottke played, Brock sought out Leo's Luthier. This led him to a guitar building course at the Bozo School of Luthiery. At the end of his course studies, Brock was offered a full time Apprenticeship.

He says: I was attracted to Bozo's guitars because they have such incredible projection while still maintaining a beautiful tonal balance. I incorporate his teaching to produce that power and balance in each of my four models of guitars.

Brock OM - Sitka & Bocote

My second from Brock Johnson and its another beauty at an ubeleivable price.

Bocote is closely related to Ziricote and produces a similar tone. This guitar has remarkable balance with gorgeous deep/warm and well defined bass notes, full and characterful mids and clear/bell like trebles. What's not to like? A beautiful and great sounding guitar at very reasonable cost.

My first from Brock Johnson and it won't be the last , this is a great value guitar and quite a looker. It also my first guitar in Pau Ferro and also won't be my last. It has a very full and rounded bass with great clarity, punchy and warm mids and clear bell-like trebles. It also has great playability and overall balance and projection.

You can see an article on one of Brock's guitars on an AGF thread HERE
