David Wren Guitars I usually get a bit excited when I work something out for another great luthier to send some guitars to TAMCO. In this case I was more than a bit excited, David's work is admired by no less than Linda Manzer!! And he's a great guy to work with, the best of all possible words. David started building in 1977 and has worked with such legendary luthiers as Jean Larrivee, Grit Laskin, Linda Manzer and Sergei de Jonge. That's quite a pedigree and it shows in the quality of his work, stunning design, attention to detail and of course - most important of all - tone. David displayed my first guitar from him at the Montreal Guitar Show before he sent it. This is what Linda Manzer said about it "David Wren's guitar was simply awe inspiring - to look at - gorgeous, to play - I couldn't put it down. One of the most inspiring builders ever." It also sold the day after it arrived. |

Wren Concert Rosewood SOLD
SoldHere's what Linda Manzer said about this guitar when it was at the Montreal Guitar show. "David Wren's guitar was simply awe inspiring - to look at - gorgeous, to play - I couldn't put it down. One of the most inspiring builders ever."
David Wren is one of those discoveries that make doing this so much fun. He’s a quiet kind of guy and doesn’t shout about his prowess much so I’m going to.
I don’t think this beauty will be around too long.. The workmanship is beautiful and immaculate, the tone is fat and I mean fat in ‘the nicest possible way’, thick and luscious with great balance, clarity and separation.
It also comes with a beautiful book with photos of the build, see photo.
