Ben Wilborn Guitars

Ben Wilborn Guitars

I met Ben Wilborn at the Healdsburg guitar festival in California in 2013. Of the around 100 luthiers present I chose Ben to add to the TAMCO roster after seeing and hearing his amazing work.

Ben says.. 'I have spent my whole life listening closely to guitars, mandolins and violins, always searching for that special quality that makes an instrument demand to be played. I have studied a zillion instruments, held them in my hands, listening to the way they respond to my fingertips, their weight and balance, the way they reflect sounds in a room.'

'It is my passion as a builder to create instruments that can respond intimately to a player’s intention, and become as much an extension of the body as a beautiful tool for the creation of music.'

I've never had a guitar in before at even twice this price in Macassar Ebony! Add Ben's fantastic skill and workmanship and you have a wonderful guitar at a very reasonable price.

The combination of Macassar ebony and cedar gives the incredible depth and definition of ebony AND the warmth of cedar making it a very expressive guitar. Deep and well defined at the low end, warm and rich in the mid-range and with clear and precise trebles, fantastic!
