Thomas Rein Guitars

Thomas Rein Guitars

I first met Thomas Rein when he visited TAMCO a couple of years ago, then at the 2015 Memphis Guitar Festival. I was very impressed with his immaculate workmanship and clear and warm tone.

"Thomas Rein built his first guitar in 1972 and served a two-year apprenticeship with Edward Rose in Lexington, Kentucky. Since that time he has built all sorts of instruments including lutes and other early instruments, classical guitars, and steel string acoustic guitars. Tom’s proprietary RJN (Rein Adjustable Neck) neck joint makes it possible for the player to adjust the action while up to pitch while never having to adjust the height of the saddle. It also makes neck resets and the "14th fret hump" obsolete."

My first from Tom and what a beauty! Luscious mahogany richness with fantastic clarity and sweet tone. There is complexity and character in all tonal ranges from the strong and well defined bass notes through the full mids to the clear ringing trebles.

With Tom's adjustable action it can be adjusted in a jiffy from low action for delicate fingerstyle to higher for a pick. Versatility doesn't get any more versatile than this.
