John Osthoff Guitars I met John at the Healdsburg Guitar Festival and was very impressed with his work, immaculate workmanship and great tone. His guitars are under-priced in my opinion, but don't tell him I said so... From his shop located in the beautiful Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts, He focuses his attention primarily on building steel string acoustic guitars. John's approach to guitar-making, although based in traditional practices, is always evolving. Never satisfied to say, "That's good enough," he continues to develop his process yielding subtle refinements in his ongoing quest to make the 'perfect' guitar. |

I got to thinking a while ago that I didn't have many cedar topped guitars in stock. Then I remembered that my favourite ever cedar topped guitar was paired with ziricote, so I ordered this beauty from John.
The sound has the typical warmth and immediacy of cedar with very full notes and beautiful richness and depth. It also has great balance and even tone across the range. Another incredible guitar from John.
