Linda Manzer Guitars

Linda Manzer Guitars

Linda Manzer is a legend in modern guitar making. She received her training from Jean Larrivée between 1974 and 1978 and later with Jimmy D'Aquisto in New York. Her greatest claim to fame is that she has and still does build many custom guitars for renowned jazz musician Pat Metheny including the Pikasso which has 42 strings and three necks. Carlos Santana, Stephen Fearing, Julian Lage, Henrik Andersen, Liona Boyd, Heather Bishop, Bruce Cockburn, Mike Francis (Pepe), Marie Lynn Hammond, Sherry Shute, John McGale and Gordon Lightfoot have to be mentioned as special customers too.

There is an interview with Linda and a review of The Manzer on my reviews page.

Custom order due in 2017.

There is an Acoustic Magazine review of this guitar here.

With the 'Manzer Wedge' this feels like an OO sized guitar to play, supremely comfortable and effortless.

The balance and clarity is the best I've heard with perfect individual note definition from bottom to top. There is a depth and richness to the tone that defies belief with incredible articulation. There is good reason why luthiers like Linda have the reputations that they do and this is one of them.

  2. Legendary Luthiers: Linda Manzer visit 8 November 2014

Legendary Luthiers: Linda Manzer visit 8 November 2014

Following the great success of Ervin Somogyi's visit I decided to offer a Legendary Luthiers series of visits to TAMCO. Legends in contemporary guitar luthiery don't get any bigger than Linda Manzer.

The visit was a great success. It was an honour to have Linda and Peggy White here. After a few hours chatting in the shop we all went over to Bom Bane's Café where Linda gave a wonderful slide show and Jane (Bom Bane) provided a fantastic spread of delicious food. It really was a privilege to hear Linda tell her story I'm I am over the moon to have one of her guitars in stock.

I'm hoping to have Linda's close friend Grit Laskin and Jeff Traugott over in 2015.
