  1. Beardsell 6A BF mandolin - sold

Beardsell 6A BF mandolin - sold

    Out of stock
I had been aware of Al Beardsell's amazing guitars for a while when I read the feature on him in the Fretboard Journal. I took a look at his website and was amazed to find this remarkable mandolin for sale.

It is one of the most stunning mandolins I have ever seen. The sound has incredible clarity and finesse, power when called for and depth and subtlety when asked.

It is in excellent condition with some very small marks. No previous owner, it was used by Al as a demonstration of his work, and was on loan to Mike Marshall for a few months and shown at his symposium summer 2010.

  2. Beardsell 3-DM - Lutz Spruce & Leopard Wood

Beardsell 3-DM - Lutz Spruce & Leopard Wood

    Out of stock
I can still remember the first time I saw an instrument by Al. This is my first Beardsell guitar and I am well and truly gobsmacked. It looks like a work of art and plays like a dream.

The tone is big, fat and generous. There's great volume and willing response to a light touch with dark and luscious bass notes, full mids and ringing sweet 'n clear trebles. To coin that tired old cliché (again) it sounds as good as it looks.

  3. Dudenbostel A-1 (used)

    Dudenbostel A-1 (used)

Lynn makes very few of his A-1 model to a basic spec, no variations. I originally bought it from Lynn, he told me that he enjoys making these once in a while because he doesn’t have to work to other people’s requirements. It still has the 'Dude' sound, they don't come any better, volume and subtlety, richness and clarity, projection and intimacy, its has it all. And I think it looks amazing.

William (Grit) Laskin is legendary for his inlays. He is a VERY entertaining speaker covering his part in the development of the soundport and arm bevel with many informative and interesting stories to tell.

See my reviews page for the article published in Acoustic magazine about the day.
