Thanks for your enquiry about buying instruments from The Acoustic Music Co to be shipped to the USA and other addresses outside the European Union. Please be assured that this is very straightforward, we regularly ship all over the world. ALL PRICES ARE IN £ (pounds sterling). Sales Tax, people resident outside the European Union do not have to pay Value Added Tax (VAT, a sales tax) this is added at 17.5% which means you can deduct 15% from our price which is shown including VAT. We will charge you the lower price, e.g. if an instrument is £1000 you will pay £850. For used instruments the deduction is 5%. Payment. I am unable to charge US customers in US Dollars, just as when I and others from outside the US buy in the US we are unable to pay in £s (pounds sterling) or Euros. The rate charged depends on the exchange rate on the day. You can get the rate and find a conversion from the following website. Bear in mind that this is not the actual rate you will be charged as whoever does the currency conversion will take a small commission. For instance if the site says that £1 = $1.80 you will have to pay around $1.85 to get a £.
If you want the actual rate on the day of payment phone the issuer of your card and ask them what the rate is. To pay by credit card you can send your details spread over several emails or phone us on + 44 1273 671841, fax + 44 1273 671862 or you can pay on the website, we can adjust the amount to be the total we have agreed. Our hours are 10.30 to 6.00, Monday to Saturday, remember there is a time difference, we are 5 hours ahead of New York, if it is 1.00 pm in New York it is 6.00 pm here.
You can pay into our bank by transfer. Your bank will probably tell you this takes a day or two, usually its about a week. We will email the details you need if you want to do this. Shipping Costs to the USA. Including insurance. For other countries please enquire.
Import Taxes, as far as I am aware there are no duties or taxes levied by the US authorities for importation but it is up to you to confirm this. For other non European countries you will need to enquire with your national authorities. |
